Our farmers
Producing the world's leading ethical wool does not happen by itself
Our farmers believe in sustainable agriculture. Both today and for generations to come.

Our merino wool comes from selected farms in New Zealand and Tasmania (Australia), where the mulesing process has never been established. This is because these areas are not affected by the blowfly which can harm the merino sheep. We have partners in both countries who visit the farms to ensure that the quality of the wool is top-notch, that the animals are well-treated, and that the shearing is carried out in a humane manner. Aclima only purchases wool from farmers who have signed a contract, where the export of live sheep for slaughter is not permitted.
Hamish Murray from Bluff Station, New Zealand is one of our merino wool farmers. He is the 4th generation Murray to run the 13,800-hectare farm in southern Marlborough with merino sheep, cattle, and bees.
